The LACC Men's Soccer Team, fell to visiting Rio Hondo College Team in what was an exciting match up in South Coast Conference play. The Roadrunners got on the board when a free kick shot by Rio Hondo was deflected and found the back of the net. The Cubs would respond with an aggressive attack but would fail to tie the game and the score would be 1-0 in favor of the roadrunners in the first half.
As it seemed LACC had finished the first half with momentum and almost scored, the Cubs went into the second half with the feeling they would equalize, but Rio Hondo would go up 2-0 on another free kick found the back of the net giving Rio Hondo a 2-0 lead. The Cubs would not go quietly as they would revamp their attack and get on the scoreboard behind captain Kender Ruiz who would score on a pass from Eduardo Corral to bring the score 2-1. The Cubs would have more opportunities and tie the game but the referee would call it off due to an offsides. The game would end 2-1 in favor of Rio who improve to 2-1-1 in conference and set back the Cubs to their 4th loss in 15 games and an overall record of 10-4-1 and 2-2 record in conference. The Cubs travel to LA Harbor next for their 5th conference match up on Tuesday October 18th at 4pm.
